WE are delighted to confirm that King’s Lynn’s Keith Chapman is the new man at the helm of the British Speedway Promoters’ Association.

Chapman has been the owner of the famous Stars club for in excess of 20 years.

In that time, he has delivered unprecedented success in the Premier League and has since established King’s Lynn as one of the top clubs in the Elite League.

A shocked but excited Chapman said: “This really is a massive honour for me and I will do all I can to try and take this sport forward.

“I understand that there is a lot of hard work ahead, I’m not hiding from that fact, and I know I’ve got a lot to learn in a short space of time, but I really can’t wait to get stuck into this.

“I’d like to thank everyone for showing faith in me and I really hope I go on to prove that I am the right man for this job.

“This really is a highlight of my time in speedway and I really am looking forward to some exciting times ahead.

“It’s a challenge I am relishing already and I particularly can’t wait to start working with the young, British riders to try and enhance the sport in this country.”

Outgoing Chairman Alex Harkess, who was in charge for six years, has been appointed as President of the BSPA.

Elsewhere, Rob Godfrey will take up the role of Vice Chairman while George English, Chris Van Straaten and Colin Pratt will make up Management Committee team.
