KEY AWAY CLASH FOR SCORPIONS

ELLIE ROSE TRAVEL Scunthorpe Scorpions make the long journey to Plymouth in South Devon tomorrow evening (Saturday) at 7pm – and are looking to emerge from the fixture with a priceless away victory.

With the advent of the July Green Sheet averages, skipper Simon Lambert is due to move up to the No 2 spot, while Zaine Kennedy will drop down to reserve alongside Luke Harrison – a potential trump-card pair for Scorpions.

Meanwhile, Plymouth Gladiators hand a debut to new signing Daniel Klima from the Czech Republic.

Scunthorpe promoter Rob Godfrey said: “Plymouth is an important away fixture for the Ellie Rose Scorpions. We’ve dropped three points at home to Glasgow and Oxford and we need to make up for that sooner rather than later and recover the lost ground, if we’re serious about finishing in the top four and reaching the play-offs in the Cab Direct Championship.

“We’re going to the Plymouth Coliseum with a mindset that it’s a meeting that we have to win, ahead of hosting the Gladiators at our own Eddie Wright Raceway next Friday.”
