NATHAN ABLITT MAKES SCUNTHORPE RETURN
FANS’ favourite Nathan Ablitt will return to ride for the Scunthorpe Scorpions at the Eddie Wright Raceway this year. The 21-year-old previously rode for Scunthorpe in 2023 and 2024 and was part of the side that won the Knockout Cup in 2023.
The announcement of Ablitt means Scorpions are left with just one place to fill, with No 1 Josh Pickering, Michael Palm Toft, Connor Mountain, Luke Harrison and Ryan Ingram also confirmed.
The Scunthorpe management are sure that Ablitt will again be a favourite with fans and team-mates alike.
Team manager David Howe said: “I’m very pleased that Nathan is back with the team. I never wanted to lose him.
“In his previous spell with us, he had really improved and settled down, and it was only because certain signings were made early last year that he had to miss out, something that I never wanted.
“I also tried to get him back in the team during last season. He was riding really well at the time, and it was very close, but then that week he got injured, so it put a stop to it.
“I hope that Nathan takes this opportunity with both hands and continues his upward progression and makes himself indispensable. He has great equipment, a good back-up team, and I know how well he fits into the team, and that is another important factor for me.
“I think Luke (Harrison), Nathan, and Ryan (Ingram) will be good for each other, and then they have more experienced riders like Josh (Pickering), Connor (Mountain), and Tofty (Michael Palm Toft) to learn from. If they keep their eyes and ears open and ask questions, it will only help them.”
