STEELERS – the joint Scunthorpe and Sheffield National League side – are top of the early NL standings after a 45-39 win over Belle Vue at Sheffield last night (Bank Holiday Monday)

Will Cairns (11), Freddy Hodder (10+1) and guest Cooper Rushen (11) provided the bulk of the Colts’ scoring, with the match curtailed one race early due to the Owlerton curfew.
