THE PRICES for the prestigious Championship League Riders’ Championship at Scunthorpe’s Eddie Wright Raceway on Sunday (April 6) have been confirmed.

The action will get underway at 3pm, with 20 qualifying heats followed by a semi-final and a final – 22 heats in total.

Admission prices will be £22 for adults, and £20 for OAPs and concessions, while children aged 16 or under will be admitted free, provided they are accompanied by a paying adult.

The individual event launches the 21st season of action at the EWR. The competition dates back to 1968, when Middlesbrough’s Graham Plant won the British League Division Two Riders’ Championship at Hackney. The 2025 season will represent the first time that the competition has been held at Scunthorpe.

The meeting will involve all the top riders from the Cab Direct Championship, while Steve Worrall and Jake Allen will represent the Scorpions.

The previous day (Saturday, April 5), Worrall and skipper Simon Lambert will represent Scorpions in the Championship Pairs at Workington.

Scunthorpe promoter Rob Godfrey said: “The admission prices for the CLRC are very reasonable – it’s just £2 more than the regular meetings at the Eddie Wright Raceway last season. There’s 22 races on offer on Sunday, and it’s a top-class line-up, so I hope plenty of supporters take in the meeting, as well as the Championship Pairs at Workington on Saturday afternoon.

“The 3pm start-time on Sunday is suitable both for families and those travelling from a bit further afield.

“Scunthorpe Speedway are honoured to be staging a meeting with such a rich history, while both Steve Worrall and Jake Allen will be keen to provide a home winner to send the Scunthorpe fans home happy.”
