COMPETITIVE PRICING FOR DOUBLE-HEADER
THE management of Scunthorpe Speedway have revealed the pricing for this Friday’s (June 28) double-header against Edinburgh at the Eddie Wright Raceway – and it will cost just an additional £5 for double the amount of racing.
The Ellie Rose Travel Scunthorpe Scorpions take on the Edinburgh Monarchs in Cab Direct Championship, with Scorpions out to maintain their impressive home form at the EWR this season. The racing starts at the earlier than usual race time of 7pm.
Following that, the Scunthorpe Stags are involved in their opening home meeting of the season in the WSRA National League, taking on the Edinburgh Monarchs Academy. The heat-leaders for the Stags are Nathan Ablitt and Luke Harrison – who ride at reserve for the Scorpions – plus Ace Pijper, who rides for the Glasgow in the Cab Direct Championship.
Adults normally pay £20 for a single Cab Direct Championship meeting at the EWR. On Friday, it will cost £25 despite the presence of extra 15 races. Likewise, OAPs and students will pay £23 for 30 heats instead of the usual £18 for 15 races.
Accompanied children up to the age of 16 can enjoy the whole evening for free.
Simon Lambert will switch from captaining the Scorpions in the first meeting, to managing the Stags in the second meeting.
Scunthorpe promoter Rob Godfrey: “We realise the need to keep prices competitive, and that’s why we’re raised admission prices by just a fiver, despite double the amount of racing.
“It’s a value-for-money night of racing. We have few hidden costs at the Eddie Wright Raceway. It’s free car parking and the programme only costs £1.
“The WSRA National League match is going to be very exciting to watch. We’ve got a lot of racing to get through and that’s why we will be starting at the earlier time of 7pm. It’s going to be an action packed evening and one not to miss.”
