Scorpions look to steal a march
ATTIS INSURANCE Scunthorpe Scorpions have an opportunity to win the very first league meeting of the season in speedway’s second tier when they visit Plymouth in the Cab Direct Championship tonight (Tuesday, 7pm).
Scorpions travel to South Devon tonight buoyed by Friday’s qualification to the semi-finals of the BSN Series, after clinching the northern mini-group of the competition. There are also KO Cup quarter-final meetings on their busy schedule this week, but firstly there’s the important business of the club’s first league meeting of the season.
Cab Direct is committed to offering those looking to buy taxis the widest choice of quality new and used taxis for sale. They work with leading manufacturers to bring them the best possible prices and back-up service in the business when they buy a taxi direct from Cab Direct. Their website is at: www.cabdirect.com
Scunthorpe promoter Rob Godfrey said: “It was fantastic to have a winning start to the season in the BSN Series, with victory in our opening three meetings, while arguably it was the fourth meeting that was even more impressive – a battling performance at Redcar to take the aggregate bonus point to win the group and progress in the competition.
“We take that momentum into a busy week this week and that week starts with us launching our Cab Direct Championship campaign at Plymouth.
“The Gladiators are not to be under-estimated, especially around their own specialist circuit, but I feel we every chance to return from the long journey down there with a win.”
Lee Complin will guest for the injured Zaine Kennedy at Redcar.
Expected teams for tonight (Tuesday):
Plymouth Gladiators: 1. Kyle Howarth, 2. Dan Gilkes, 3. Paul Starke, 4. Ben Barker, 5. Richie Worrall, 6. Jake Turner, 7. Ben Trigger.
