ATTIS INSURANCE Scunthorpe Scorpions are looking to record their second win in three days over the Birmingham Brummies in the BSN Series at the Eddie Wright Raceway tonight (Friday, 7.30pm).

Scorpions won 49-41 in the West Midlands on Wednesday night, to make it two wins out of two in the northern group of the BSN Series, having previously defeated Redcar Bears by 50-40 at the EWR.

A victory over Brummies tonight, plus at least the aggregate bonus point at Redcar next Friday (April 28), would book Scunthorpe’s place in the semi-finals as group winners.

Scunthorpe promoter Rob Godfrey said: “We’re confident of victory over Birmingham at the Eddie Wright Raceway.

“But we certainly won’t take anything for granted, since they’ve got a couple of ex-Scorpions in their line-up who can score around our place. I’m expecting it to be another night of some fabulous racing.

“We know what we need to do to reach the knockout stages of the BSN Series and I feel we’re fully capable of doing that.”

As at Birmingham on Wednesday, Jason Edwards will guest for Scorpions in place of the injured Zaine Kennedy.

Accompanied children aged 16 and under will be admitted free all season to speedway meetings at the Eddie Wright Raceway.

For those who cannot make it to the Eddie Wright Raceway, Scorpions are live streaming home meetings for just £11.99 at: https://tv.scunthorpe-speedway.com/
