ACCOMPANIED children, aged 16 and under, will be admitted free for speedway meetings at the Eddie Wright Raceway involving the Scunthorpe Scorpions in 2023.

It comes as part of a pricing review that also means the car parking is now free at the venue. Adults will now be charged £20 per meeting.

Scunthorpe promoter Rob Godfrey said: “We’d like to increase the number of young people and families at speedway meetings at the Eddie Wright Raceway.

“Speedway is a highly exciting high-octane sport that provides thrills and spills and once the younger generations are hooked on it, it’s addictive.

“We’re also simplifying our whole process, which is why we’ve removed the charge for the car park.

“We appreciate these are difficult times, and we have sought to keep the overall price of attending a meeting at Scunthorpe attractive and value for money, while making sure we cover our costs.”

Scunthorpe Scorpions are involved in their opening meeting of the season at the EWR on Good Friday (April 7) at 5pm when they entertain Redcar Bears in a new competition, the BSN Series.

Before that, press and practice takes place at the Eddie Wright Raceway a week on Friday (March 31) at 6pm. Admission is free and all supporters are welcome to attend.

2023 SPEEDWAY ADMISSION PRICES:
