Flyin’ Ryan leads Scunthorpe fight at Poole
POOLE PIRATES 55 SCUNTHORPE SCORPIONS 35 (CHAMPIONSHIP)
ATTIS INSURANCE Scunthorpe Scorpions were far from disgraced, but lost 35-55 at reigning champions Poole last night (Wednesday).
After several injuries, Scorpions have a slightly patched-up team at the present time, but a superb performance from No 1 Ryan Douglas saw him score 15 points from seven rides, including four heat wins, despite starting his evening with a fall and exclusion in Heat 1 after an incident with Drew Kemp.
Pirates took control after moving into an early 14-4 lead after three races, but the following five races were shared as Scorpions started to add a little respectability to the scoreline.
Adam Roynon did everything expected of him on his debut for Scorpions, scoring four points from four rides and battling for every point.
