ATTIS INSURANCE Scunthorpe Scorpions return to action for the first time in 17 days when they travel to Poole’s Wimborne Road stadium in a Championship clash tonight (Wednesday) at 7.30pm.

New signing Adam Roynon makes his debut for Scorpions against the reigning league champions.

With 18-year-old Jordan Palin ruled out for the rest of the season, after suffering a bleed to the brain during a Team Great Britain session at Belle Vue, Jason Edwards come in as a guest rider, while rider replacement will cover Jake Allen who is still recovering from a broken scaphoid.

Scunthorpe promoter and stand-in team manager Rob Godfrey said: “A trip to Poole is never the easiest fixture, and, on paper, we have better chances to pick up some away league points at Redcar and Berwick at the end of August, when hopefully we can put out something like a full team.

“But Poole have slipped up several times at home this season, and we’ll go into the meeting seeing what we can pick up. We got a point at Plymouth earlier in the season when no-one expected us to, so what’s to stop us doing the same at Poole?”

Expected teams for tonight (Wednesday):

Poole Pirates: 1. Steve Worrall, 2. Drew Kemp, 3. Danny King, 4. Zach Cook, 5. Richard Lawson, 6. Ben Cook, 7. Nathan Ablitt.

Attis Insurance Scunthorpe Scorpions: 1. Ryan Douglas, 2. Simon Lambert (captain), 3. Jason Edwards (guest), 4. James Wright, 5. Rider replacement for Jake Allen, 6. Adam Roynon, 7. Zaine Kennedy.

* ATTIS INSURANCE Scunthorpe Scorpions commence their campaign in a new competition, the Jubilee League, at the Eddie Wright Raceway on Friday (7.30pm) when they host the Leicester Lions.
