Best wishes to Dave Peet
EVERYONE at Scunthorpe Speedway sends their best wishes to Dave Peet, the team manager of the Attis Insurance Scunthorpe Scorpions, ahead of his surgery to remove his cancer tomorrow (Tuesday).
The former speedway referee became the team manager of Scorpions in 2013, after previous management roles at Hull and Berwick. Ahead of his surgery, Dave missed the 51-39 victory over Edinburgh at the Eddie Wright Raceway on Sunday. Former King’s Lynn manager Dale Allitt stood in.
Scunthorpe promoter Rob Godfrey said: “I’m sure everyone will join me in sending our very best wishes to Dave, who was diagnosed with bowel cancer about a month ago.
“Dave is very upbeat and positive about everything, but his recovery period is likely to be several weeks, so his season is probably over as far as team managing the Scorpions goes.
“Get well soon Dave and our thoughts are with you and Lorraine.”
