SCORPIONS OUT TO TAME TIGERS

ATTIS INSURANCE Scunthorpe Scorpions are seeking to win their third successive home meeting, when they entertain third-placed Glasgow Tigers at the Eddie Wright Raceway tomorrow (Friday) at 7.30pm.

Connor Coles, an excellent guest against last Friday, when he scored 4+2 in a 47-43 victory over Redcar at the EWR, will make his debut as a fully-fledged Scorpion, in place of the injured Ryan Kinsley.

Meanwhile, Scunthorpe will use rider replacement for Tero Aarnio, who is on World Championship duty.

Scorpions’ team manager Dave Peet says: “We know it’s going to be a tough match against Glasgow.

“We will be using rider replacement with no Tero Aarnio again, as he’s away riding in the Grand Prix qualifier in Slovakia on Saturday.

“You never know which Glasgow team is going to turn up, though. They seem to be struggling a little bit on the road at the minute, but they are the sort of team that can bounce straight back and bite you, so we will need to be on the top of our game to see them off and collect the three league points.

“There was some good racing as usual in last Friday’s win over Redcar and we’d like a repeat performance – another night when the fans go happy from both the result and from feeling entertained.”
