DEPLETED SCORPIONS FINISH SEASON AT LEICESTER
ATTIS INSURANCE Scunthorpe Scorpions will complete their 2021 season in the second leg of their Championship Play-Off quarter-final tie at Leicester tomorrow evening (Saturday).
While it’s been a fabulous season for Scunthorpe, reaching the play-offs for the first time in seven years against the expectations of most people outside the town, things have gone against the club at the end of the season.
Leicester already lead by 18 points from the first leg at the Eddie Wright Raceway, and Lions’ progress to the semi-finals is a formality, since Scorpions again must track a depleted side.
Scorpions are still missing the trio of Thomas Jorgensen (injured), Tero Aarnio (visa issues) and Theo Pijper (30-day suspension), while No 1 Adam Ellis is also ruled out.
Scunthorpe will use rider replacement for Jorgensen, while James Shanes, Jye Etheridge and Connor Mountain come in as guest riders.
