Josh Auty update: CT scan clear
ATTIS INSURANCE Scunthorpe Scorpions have received the tremendous news that No 1 Josh Auty has escaped major injury. Furthermore, he should be clear to recommence racing for the club – once he sits out a statutory nine-day period after receiving concussion.
The 30-year-old Yorkshireman, who is Scunthorpe’s all-time leading scorer, was involved in a frightening high-speed crash, after tangling with Dan Thompson in Heat 11 during Scunthorpe’s cup clash at Leicester on Saturday night.
Auty ended up trapped underneath the air fence, and it took some minutes to extract him, while he was dizzy and complaining of neck pain, although the good news was that he was conscious and talking and could move everything. He stayed in hospital overnight.
Auty tweeted earlier this evening (Sunday): “Had a CT scan and its come back all clear. Will be out of racing for nine days due to the concussion. Thank you for all your kind messages.”
Second-placed Scorpions will require a guest replacement for Auty for the home meeting against league leaders Glasgow Tigers at the Eddie Wright Raceway next Sunday (June 20) at 3pm, which falls within the nine-day period.
