HENDERSON INSURANCE Scunthorpe Scorpions welcome back both Josh Auty and Jake Allen from injury, when they entertain local rivals Sheffield Tigers at the Eddie Wright Raceway tonight (Friday, 7.30pm).

Scunthorpe won’t be quite at full strength, since Stefan Nielsen is ruled out by the 9-day-concussion rule, after a crash at Ipswich last night.

Scorpions’ last victory was a 53-37 win away at Sheffield on August 2. Since then, they have picked up one draw and four defeats.

Team manager Dave Peet says: “I’m delighted that Josh Auty and Jake Allen are back from injury tonight, because we’ve missed them badly in the two fixtures against Ipswich in the last week.

“We need them to both hit the ground running against the Tigers, as we really could do with a good, positive result.

“Sheffield are currently bottom of the league, but we can’t under-estimate them, because we know that they have riders who can ride our track well. It’s a potential banana skin fixture for us, and the lads will need the supporters behind them.

“We want to finish our home league meetings on a high, while we need some momentum going into our Championship Shield semi-final against Workington next Friday.”
