Worrall in fine form at Foxhall
IPSWICH WITCHES 51 SCUNTHORPE SCORPIONS 38 (CHAMPIONSHIP)
HENDERSON INSURANCE Scunthorpe Scorpions’ rotten luck continued, when Stefan Nielsen suffered concussion in a fall during the 38-51 defeat at Ipswich last night (Thursday).
Nielsen was thrown off his bike in Heat 11, after he lost a chain.
He will be ruled out of action for nine days, including the meeting at the Eddie Wright Raceway tonight (Friday, 7.30pm), against Sheffield Tigers.
Skipper Steve Worrall had a fine meeting at Foxhall Heath, scoring 18 points from seven rides, with his main support coming from Jason Garrity who contributed 10+1.
Team manager Dave Peet said: “Stefan Nielsen was unlucky, because he shed his chain just as he was getting his wheels in line coming out of the second bend, building up HIT speed. He hit the ground hard. He was pretty shaken up, although because he was knocked, he will be out for nine days in any case.
“Steve Worrall had a really excellent meeting for us, while Jason Garrity was in there battling away.
“We didn’t have enough riders scoring points to challenge Ipswich, although it was a step in the right direction after our heavy home defeat to the Witches last Friday.”
