Garrity escapes leg break
THERE is some positive news following Jason Garrity’s alarming fall in a Knockout Cup match at Sheffield last night (Thursday). It is initially feared that Garrity may have suffered a broken leg in the crash, but that is not the case.
Scunthorpe promoter Rob Godfrey revealed: “Jason has had two X-rays and the good news is thankfully nothing is broken.
“He was in a lot of pain after the crash, and he will need to rest up for a few days, because he took a battering.”
With Garrity ruled out of tonight’s (Friday) second leg at the Eddie Wright Raceway against the Tigers, Scunthorpe have booked Rory Schlein as an additional guest, with Scorpions needing to overcome a 39-51 deficit to progress to the cup semi-finals.
A glorious day of sunshine lies ahead.
Godfrey said: “We’ve now got Rory Schlein coming in for Steve Worrall at No 1, while we’re use rider replacement for Jason at No 5. Dimitri Berge again guests at No 2, and he was superb for us last night.
“It’s game on. We want that place in the semi-finals.”
