GARRITY WANTS TO GO WILD

JASON GARRITY believes he can step onto the top podium at tonight’s (Monday) British Final at Belle Vue, and claim the wildcard place at the British Grand Prix at Cardiff’s magnificent Principality Stadium on July 21.

Garrity won his semi-final at Sheffield with a brilliant 15-point maximum and reckons he can summon up that kind of form again.

He said: “I’ve put a lot into my machinery for the meeting at Belle Vue – I’ve invested heavily.

“I’ve been to Cardiff twice as a reserve, and had one ride around the place, but I wasn’t ready for it. I’m now ready for that next step and I want that wildcard place and to take full part in the meeting.

“Anybody can win the British Final at Belle Vue – it’s a wide-open meeting. It’s about making those starts and doing the deed.

“I’m going to Belle Vue to enjoy myself, but I’ll be putting everything into it.”

Garrity is one of three of representative for Henderson Insurance Scunthorpe Scorpions in the sixteen-man British Final line-up – along with Josh Auty and Steve Worrall.

Worrall makes his return from the broken leg he sustained at the Eddie Wright Raceway on April 6.

He has been handed the opportunity, despite missing the British Semi-Finals, based on a number of other injuries – including to Scorpions’ team-mate Stefan Nielsen – plus recognition of Worrall’s runners-up spot last year and the fact he represented GB in the 2017 World Cup Final.
