Henderson Insurance Scorpions ride again!

HENDERSON Insurance Broking Group will again be main team sponsors of the Scunthorpe Scorpions in 2018, in one of speedway’s long-serving sponsorship deals.

Henderson Insurance first backed the Scunthorpe Scorpions in 2007, when the club – in just its third season after a 20-year-break – was operating in the Conference League.

They became title sponsors when the North Lincolnshire side moved up to the Premier League in 2008. The ‘Henderson Insurance Scunthorpe Scorpions’ memorably won the Premier League championship in 2012.

And with a powerful line-up assembled in 2018, hopes are high for more silverware in this season’s SGB Championship, in the twelfth season that Henderson Insurance have sponsored Scorpions.

Scunthorpe promoter Rob Godfrey says: “The support of Henderson Insurance to Scunthorpe Speedway has been absolutely invaluable.

“Over the years, Henderson Insurance have put a significant amount of money into our club, and supported us through thick and thin.

“You always need a bit of luck, but this year we feel we’ve got a team which will be there-or-thereabouts when it comes to picking up the silverware in all the major competitions. A bit of success always helps getting the name of the ‘Henderson Insurance Scunthorpe Scorpions’ out there.”

Godfrey added: “As well as saying a huge thank you to Henderson Insurance as a company for their continued support, I want to say a personal thank you to Joe Henderson. He’s been such a big supporter of our club – I don’t know Scunthorpe Speedway would be without him.
