End-of-season presentation night cancelled

WITH regret, the end-of-season presentation evening at the Eddie Wright Raceway – which was due to take place on Saturday, October 21 – has been cancelled due to poor ticket sales.

STING Fund Chairman Paul Duff said: “We are a small fund, but hugely important in helping riders with costs.

“Sadly, we just couldn’t sell enough tickets to make the Pie’N’Peas supper and disco economically viable.

“We weren’t prepared to run it at a loss, since the fund is the lifeblood for some of the lads when repair bills are too expensive. I’m gutted, I really am, but I feel it is the right decision.

“This year, Ryan, Wilko and Lewis received valuable help for the STING Fund. The weekly raffle has been very successful and a lot of hard work has been put in this year. I thank the committee and the Hornsby and Bates families.”

Now the fund has the unenviable task of trying to refund those who have purchased tickets.
