NEW SIGNING Stefan Nielsen is set to make his debut for the Henderson Insurance Scunthorpe Scorpions, as a full strength Scorpions entertain Berwick Bandits at the Eddie Wright Raceway this afternoon (Sunday, 3pm).

In a packed schedule containing a total of 40 races, the 25-heat second round of the 150/125cc class of the British Youth Championship will take place in the second half.

Josh Auty and Lewis Kerr are both set to return from injury, while Josh Bailey is due to ride, despite being up a knock in Wednesday’s British Under-21 Final at Poole.

Scorpions are looking to complete the double over Bandits, having won 48-42 at Shielfield Park eight days ago.

Scunthorpe promoter Rob Godfrey said: “It should be a terrific day of racing at the Eddie Wright Raceway.

“We have a very clear objective from this meeting – to pick up the three league points by defeating Berwick.

“They have a potent spearhead in ex-Scorpion Nick Morris and Lewis Bridger, and we won’t be complacent. But if we perform to our abilities, I see no reason why we can’t emerge with a victory.

“It will mark the first outing for our revised line-up, with Michael Palm Toft moving to No 1, Ryan Douglas to No 4, and Stefan Nielsen coming in at No 6.

“I believe we now have a team that can win anywhere, and this afternoon will be the first opportunity to prove what we can now do.”

Today’s adult admission price for the double-header is £17. It’s just £2 more than a single SGB Championship meeting at the Eddie Wright Raceway, for 25 extra heats of action. A full and exciting afternoon of racing is ahead. DON’T MISS IT!
