HENDERSON INSURANCE Scunthorpe Scorpions will head into their opening meeting of the 2017 season at Peterborough on Friday evening (7.30pm) without young reserve Josh Bailey.

19-year-old Bailey missed the back end of 2016 with a broken collarbone.

Promoter Rob Godfrey reveals: “Josh isn’t quite ready. He had the metalwork out of his shoulder a week ago, and he needs a little more time.

“We’re bringing in Scott Campos as a guest for Josh at Peterborough.”

Scunthorpe travel to the East Of England Showground in the new-look Speedway Great Britain Championship, in the first of 36 league matches.

Scorpions open their home fixtures at the Eddie Wright Raceway a week on Sunday (April 2nd, 5.30pm).
