Scorpions out for nap hand of victories
HENDERSON INSURANCE Scunthorpe Scorpions travel to local rivals Sheffield Tigers tonight (Wednesday, 7.30pm) aiming to win their fifth successive Premier League match.
A victory would also ensure that Scorpions would definitely not finish bottom of the 2016 Premier League.
Having completed their home fixtures, tonight represents the first of four remaining away meetings for Scunthorpe. The others are: Plymouth on Saturday (Sept 17), Rye House next Monday (Sept 19) and Newcastle a week on Sunday (Sept 25).
Scunthorpe promoter Rob Godfrey says: “There is plenty riding on tonight’s result.
“Sheffield are desperate for a win to clinch their place in the play-offs, while there’s also local pride on the line, because we’d like to go into the winter with at least one victory over the Tigers this season.”
