Josh goes for glory at PLRC
SHEFFIELD Speedway are gearing up for one of the biggest evenings of the season as they host the Premier League Riders’ Championship on Sunday (5.30pm), with Henderson Insurance Scunthorpe Scorpions’ skipper Josh Auty gunning for glory at his former home track.
A star-studded field featuring the top riders in the second tier will descend on Owlerton to battle for the prestigious crown.
Four World Cup finalists will be in action, including Great Britain’s silver medal heroes Danny King and Craig Cook.
The late withdrawal of Robert Lambert means defending Champion Ulrich Ostergaard will now have a chance to retain his title.
There are a number of additional activities taking place across the day, with rider signing sessions from 4.00 until 4.15, live music at 3.45 plus face painting and a children’s entertainer.
1976 World Champion Peter Collins will be a special guest whilst British Champion Danny King has agreed to bring his trophy for photographs.
There will also be a full fireworks spectacular after the presentations to cap off a bumper day of action.
