Dear Mr & Mrs Godfrey

I am not normally moved to write about the action at Scunny because we are spoiled on a weekly basis. But after Friday’s meeting I have to say you have surpassed yourselves. Everyone involved, car park attendant, turnstile operator, programme sellers, bar & food staff are very friendly & helpful. Thanks also to the referee for getting twenty one races done in well under two hours.

The track was superb allowing all the riders to have a real go resulting in overtaking in all but only two races I think. It should be compulsory for all track curators to visit Scunny to see how a real racetrack should be prepared. Thanks once again and good luck for the rest of the season.

Kind regards
Dave Cooper

Hi Gail,

I’m not overly technical and rarely send emails but, after 45 years a fan, I know a good meeting and felt compelled to email you and congratulate yourself, Rob, the track staff and, of course, the riders on providing the best 15 quids worth of entertainment available last night. The quality of the track was evidenced by the limits the riders were prepared to go to in their quest for glory, regularly you could throw a blanket over three riders …even on the third lap!! And what about Richard Hall…when you can beat Rob Lambert AND Bomber, I don’t think anyone should disrespect your capabilities… I’ll say no more!!

Anyway thanks again, all meets at EWR are good but that had to be the second best meeting I’ve ever seen at EWR. The best meeting? Heat 15 from October 2012 Scunthorpe v Somerset…a forever memory !! I’d pay £15 just to watch that heat again.

Dunno bout the semi….let’s have the finaĺ at Scunny next year.

Kind regards
Paul Colley
