ELLIE ROSE TRAVEL Scunthorpe Scorpions travel north of the border to face reigning champions Glasgow Tigers in the Cab Direct Championship tonight (Friday) at 7.30pm.

Scunthorpe are currently on 14 points, along with Poole and Oxford, at the top of the table. Scorpions are currently deemed to be third – due to race points difference – but could go top tonight, dependent on the Redcar vs Poole result and also the one at Glasgow.

Scorpions are unchanged from the side that picked up a 55-35 victory over Glasgow at the Eddie Wright Raceway a fortnight ago.

Meanwhile, Tigers introduce new signings Matic Ivacic and Jason Garrad, while Ben Barker will guest for Steve Worrall, who has been signed off for a month through illness.

Scunthorpe promoter Rob Godfrey said: “Glasgow are a bit unsettled, with a couple of riders making their debut for them against us, plus Steve Worrall is out ill at the moment.

“The minimum requirement is the aggregate bonus point, but I believe we have a chance to come back from Scotland with a win under our belts.”

Expected teams for tonight (Friday):

Glasgow Tigers: 1. Chris Harris, 2. Jack Smith, 3. Leon Flint, 4. Matic Ivacic, 5. Ben Barker (guest), 6. James Pearson, 7. Jason Garrad.

Ellie Rose Travel Scunthorpe Scorpions: 1. Michael Palm Toft, 2. Simon Lambert (captain), 3. Jake Allen, 4. Connor Mountain, 5. Kyle Howarth, 6. Nathan Ablitt, 7. Luke Harrison.

* ELLIE ROSE TRAVEL return to action at home when they host the Workington Comets at the Eddie Wright Raceway next Friday (July 26) at 7.30pm.
