Two more Scorpions in for Josh’s big day

FELLOW Scunthorpe Scorpions Jake Allen and Simon Lambert have both agreed to complete in the Josh Auty Testimonial at the Eddie Wright Raceway on Sunday, March 22nd (3pm).

Rider announcements have reached the halfway stage – a top quality line-up has been revealed so far – with Auty admitting preparations are currently dominating his day-to-day life.

Auty said: “Jake came on board with Scunny two years ago at the end of 2017 and he’s just a really nice lad.

“In my opinion, he’s made really good strides in the sport.

“Like me, he supports Manchester United as well, so that’s good! I think we’re the only two in the team who support United, although to be fair I don’t think the others are too interested in football.

“As for Simon, I’ve known him throughout my whole career I think.

“We were rivals in the British Under-15 Championship to start with, he’s a good rider at Championship level and a decent performer in the Premiership. I’d regard him as a good friend of mine.

“At the moment, the testimonial preparation is dominating everything but I did quite a bit of work on my bikes over Christmas time, like two or three weeks hammering it in the workshop getting my bikes ready and up to scratch for the season.

“I just need to get out (for a practice) now. I should really have gone out the week before last, prior to the storms because the weather was really good but now we’ve had a period when nobody’s been getting out because of the bad weather.”
