British Champ to race for Josh

SCUNTHORPE stalwart Josh Auty has named reigning British Champion Charles Wright as the fifth rider to join his testimonial line-up.

The 29-year-old Brit has stepped up preparations for his big day on Sunday, March 22nd (3pm) at the Eddie Wright Raceway.

Wright joins Auty’s Scunthorpe teammate Thomas Jorgensen, alongside two former British Champions Danny King and Chris Harris and fellow Auty’s Yorkshireman James Sarjeant.

Auty has vowed to assemble a highly-competitive line-up and is happy with how things are shaping up so far.

“I’m really chuffed to announce the reigning British Champion has agreed to ride. He’s another one of my grasstrack buddies,” said Auty.

“I’ve known Charles (Wright) for my whole racing career. I was really happy for him when he won the British Championship last year.

“He has been a consistent performer for a number of years. It’s going to be a huge year for him this season riding for his boyhood club (Belle Vue).

“I’m really pleased that Thomas Jorgensen has agreed to ride in my testimonial.

“We have been really good friends since we won the league together in 2012. I’m also delighted to see him re-sign for Scunthorpe in 2020 and I look forward to teaming up with him again!”
