Bacon for Bonanza
TOM Bacon is the latest rider to be confirmed for the Ben Fund Bonanza at Scunthorpe on Saturday, March 14th (2pm).
Bacon will ride for Kent in 2020 and has been a very impressive visitor around the Eddie Wright Raceway in the past.
This traditional fund-raising event will be held for the 11th time with more money set to be raised for injured and disabled riders through the brilliant Speedway Riders’ Benevolent Fund.
A competitive line-up has been assembled with more riders set be announced in the coming weeks leading up to the event.
Bacon has endured a torrid time with injury in recent years and has expressed his gratitude for all the support he has received from the Fund.
He said: “It’s great for the riders and supporters that the meeting is so early in the year as it’s always a long winter and hopefully everyone will be desperate to see some speedway!
“I am so pleased to be able to ride in this meeting. It can be very difficult when you get injured as a speedway rider and the Ben Fund have helped me personally over the past couple of years which I am so grateful for.
“It is also a fantastic opportunity to get some competitive racing under my belt against a tough line up before the official season gets underway.
“I feel like I have made big strides each year even with the injuries, so I am really looking to push on even further this season as I know I have a lot more potential for improvement.”
A wide range of sponsorship opportunities are available for any supporters or local businesses looking to promote their company – with all help greatly appreciated by everyone associated with the Fund.
Build an air-fence bricks will also be available at just £10 each. Anyone wanting to participate should send a cheque payable to the Speedway Riders’ Benevolent Fund with the name(s) wanted on the brick to: SRBF, c/o 10 Magpie Way, Aqueduct, Telford TF43TS.
