Auty’s big day taking shape
JOSH Auty has revealed how Danny King was the first rider he asked to race in his testimonial.
Auty holds his big meeting on Sunday March 22nd at Scunthorpe’s Eddie Wright Raceway with a 3pm start.
Former British Champion King will feature alongside Chris Harris, a former team-mate of Auty’s at Coventry, and James Sarjeant.
Said Auty: “Danny was the first person I asked to ride in my testimonial. I’ve been really good friends with Danny since the age of six as we grew up on the youth Grasstrack scene and I’m pleased to have him on board.”
Harris, meanwhile, has provided some of the most entertaining moments in British racing down the years.
“I became good friends with Chris when we rode together at Coventry,” said Auty. “I’ve always admired his determination, an absolute warrior of a competitor and I was chuffed to bits when he agreed to ride in my meeting.”
Fellow Yorkshireman Sarjeant is the latest name in Auty’s line-up.
“I’ve known James from when he was riding in the second half after the meeting at Sheffield,” he said. “He had a few tough seasons but I think he has finally settled at Edinburgh and I think he will have a great season.”
Admission for Auty’s big day is £16 adults, £14 student / OAP, £5 children aged 10-17 and Under 10s go free. A family ticket for two adults and two children aged 10-17 is available for £37. Further details are available from joshautytestimonial@hotmail.com
