FLUIDAIR POWER Scunthorpe Scorpions are looking to bounce back from a 39-53 defeat at Ipswich on Thursday, when they host the Plymouth Devils in a Premier League clash at the Eddie Wright Raceway this afternoon (Sunday, 3pm).

The meeting will be followed by a National League encounter involving the Scunthorpe Stags and the King’s Lynn Young Stars.

The Scorpions were due to be involved in three meetings this week, but yesterday’s (Saturday) fixture at Rye House was called off in the morning by the Rye House promotion due to forecasted rain, which ironically then failed to materialise.

Looking forward to this afternoon’s double-header, Scunthorpe promoter Rob Godfrey said: “I’m sure a cracking day of speedway action is ahead.

“Plymouth’s No 1 Ben Barker is always good entertainment around the Eddie Wright Raceway, while Kalle Katajisto is enjoying a fine run at reserve.

“But with the crowd behind us, I’m sure we’re capable of defeating the Devils.”
