Scorpions set to name new rider at EWR today
HENDERSON INSURANCE Scunthorpe Scorpions’ promoter Rob Godfrey will reveal the rider to replace the retired Josh Auty – from the centre green of the Eddie Wright Raceway!
Godfrey will name his new signing during today’s (Sunday) Knockout Cup clash between Scorpions and Peterborough Panthers (start-time 5.30pm).
He says: “I always like our loyal supporters to hear the news first.
“The plan is to announce the replacement for Josh Auty during the parade during the Scorpions v Peterborough meeting.
“It’s going to be a cracking afternoon of speedway. It’s going to be intriguing to see how Peterborough’s new signing Chris Harris fares against our lads such as Michael (Palm Toft) and Lewis (Kerr).
“In view of our fighting performance at Newcastle last Sunday, where we pushed them all the way, I have every confidence that we can get a positive result and open up a lead to take down for the second leg at Peterborough.”
Rider replacement will operate for Auty against the Panthers, while Nathan Greaves will cover for Josh Bailey.
