Scorpions vs Monarchs: heat-by-heat

Official track photographer ALEX SUMMERFIELD was on hand to capture all the action from last Sunday’s highly-entertaining clash.

Heat 1: First blood to Ryan Douglas (red), who leads Sam Masters and Carl Wilkinson.

Heat 2: Mark Riss leads, while Josh Bailey battles inside Mitchell Davey, who would end up taking a fall.

Heat 3: An excellent 5-1 for Michael Palm Toft (blue) and Richard Hall (red).

Heat 4: All four riders in close contention. Dimitri Berge (red) would come out on top after a cracking battle with Ricky Wells (white).

Heat 5: Captain MPT takes a superb win, after overhauling Sam Masters.

Heat 6: A ding-dong battle between Wilko (blue) and Ricky Wells (white), which Wells would eventually grab on the final bend.

Heat 7: Erik Riss ahead of Dimitri Berge.

Heat 8: Wilko & Richard Hall are the early leaders in Heat 8.  Josh Pickering (white) would come through to win an all-action race.

Heat 9: MPT chasing the Edinburgh pair.  He would pass Ricky Wells (white), but just ran out of time before he could overhaul Mark Riss (yellow).

Heat 10: Erik Riss and Ryan Douglas battle it out.

Heat 11: Dimitri Berge takes up the chase, but he couldn’t prevent Monarchs moving ahead with a 5-1.

Heat 12: 5-1 to the Riss brothers, ahead of Wilko & Josh B.

Heat 13: A blanket could be thrown over all four riders…

Later in Heat 13: Ryan lifts and comes down.

Heat 14: The never-say-die Richard Hall chases the Monarchs.

Heat 15: Ryan snapping at the heels of the Monarchs’ pair.

Later in Heat 15: Ryan clips the back of Ricky Wells’ bike and has to bail out.
