ALEX SUMMERFIELD captures the action from Sunday’s thriller between Scunthorpe & Somerset.

Heat 1: Michael Palm Toft leads the Somerset pair of Josh Grajczonek (white) and Jake Allen (yellow), with Josh Auty in pursuit in the background.

Heat 2: Carl Wilkinson leads the initial staging of Heat 2.  In the background, Rob Shuttleworth bites the shale, after a robust challenge from Josh Bailey.

Heat 3: Lewis Kerr and new signing Fritz Wallner are the early leaders in Heat 3. Charles Wright (white) eventually took second place from Fritz.

Heat 4: Ryan Douglas gets half a wheel in front of Rohan Tungate, but Tungate holds on to win the race.

Heat 5: Lewis Kerr under pressure from eventual race-winner Josh Grajczonek.

Heat 8: MPT looking stylish as he wins Heat 8.  Josh Bailey had a right old ding-dong with the Rebels for the minor places, and defeated Jake Allen in the battle for third place.

Heat 9: Lewis Kerr shows Rohan Tungate the way home.  We enjoyed this one!

Heat 12: Wheel-to-wheel stuff between Lewis and Charles Wright.

Heat 14: We needed a 5-1 to win the meeting.  As this shot out of the second bend shows, for a fleeting moment we held that position…

Heat 14: The battle for third place between Fritz & Bradley Wilson-Dean.  The Somerset rider won the battle, while Paul Starke won the race out front with Carl Wilkinson, as Rebels pegged the scores back level, before the almost inevitable 5-1 from Grajczonek & Tungate in Heat 15.  Drat and double drat!!
