Scorpions entertain the champions (Rained off)

HENDERSON INSURANCE Scunthorpe Scorpions entertain reigning Premier League champions Edinburgh Monarchs at the Eddie Wright Raceway this evening (Sunday, 6.30pm).

Scorpions suffered a 34-58 defeat at Workington yesterday (Saturday) and need to put in a vastly improved performance to take the points today.

New signing Lewis Kerr makes his home debut this evening.

Scunthorpe promoter Rob Godfrey says: “It doesn’t get any easier, because today it’s reigning champions Edinburgh standing between us and three points.

“We need a good meeting to get everyone’s confidence back up, and hopefully today will be it.

“What is almost guaranteed is cracking action, as the likes of Ryan Fisher race our lads around the best racetrack in the country.”
