Scorpions must bounce back on Friday

HENDERSON INSURANCE Scunthorpe Scorpions home clash against Berwick Bandits at the Eddie Wright Raceway on Friday evening (7.30pm) has taken on crucial significance in relation to their season.

Following the disappointing 40-53 home defeat to Peterborough yesterday (Bank Holiday Monday), Scunthorpe promoter Rob Godfrey insists: “I need to see a response from our riders in the meeting against Berwick.

“It’s imperative that the riders show what they can do in that meeting, following on from the huge disappointment of the Peterborough meeting.

“It’s become a make-or-break meeting in the context of our season.

“I can assure our supporters that we don’t take losing our home meetings lightly, that we are exploring every avenue available to us, and that I expect our riders to come back fighting on Friday evening.”
