Wilko blow for Scorpions

CARL WILKINSON is ruled out of tomorrow’s (Sunday, 6.30pm) local derby clash at the Eddie Wright Raceway between the Henderson Insurance Scunthorpe Scorpions and Sheffield Tigers.

Wilkinson suffered a badly swollen wrist, following a crash during the Swindon vs King’s Lynn Elite League match on Thursday.

Ex-Scunthorpe rider Stefan Nielsen, whose recent impressive performance for Plymouth at the EWR included two wins over Ryan Douglas, will come in as a guest at the No 6 position.

“Of course it’s a blow to be without Wilko”, said Scunthorpe promoter Rob Godfrey.

“But I believe we’ve booked the very best guest available in Stefan Nielsen. He’s been in fine form for Plymouth recently and I believe he can do the job.”
