Scorpions vs Diamonds heat-by-heat

ALEX SUMMERFIELD captures each heat of Bank Holiday Monday’s Knockout Cup clash between the Scunthorpe Scorpions and the Newcastle Diamonds.

Heat 1: Josh Auty sets the pace, while Carl Wilkinson and Robert Lambert battle for second place. Lambert eventually overhauled Wilko with a lap remaining.

Heat 2: Josh Bailey and Ashley Morris on their way to a 5-1.

Heat 3: Ludvig Lindgren ahead, but Alex Davies and Zdenek Holub fill the minor placings.

Heat 4: Ryan Douglas (red) & Josh Bailey (blue), ahead of Danny Phillips.

Heat 5: Alex (red) on the inside, while Zdenek (blue) is poised to make a move on Viktor Palovaara.

Heat 6: Josh and Wilko on a 5-1, before Steve Worrall’s fall.

Heat 6 re-run: Wilko and Josh back out in front.

Heat 7: Ryan produces a storming ride to come through for a win, ahead of Lindgren & Kus.

Heat 8: Wilko out in front, while Josh B (blue) chases Palovaara (white).

Heat 9: Alex wins a ding-dong battle with Steve Worrall.

Heat 10: Josh & Wilko in close proximity, while chasing Matej Kus.

Heat 11: The dying moments of the race, as Ryan storms around Robert Lambert in BRILLIANT fashion, to bring the house down.

Heat 12: Alex & Josh B on a 4-2. Lewis Rose is between them.

Heat 13: Ryan fighting hard to try to keep Steve Worrall behind him.

Heat 14: Lindgren under pressure from both sides by Zdenek and Ash.

Heat 15: Heading for the first turn, as the Diamonds finish with their second 5-1 in three races.  The Scorpions end with a 10-point advantage to take to Brough Park on June 5.
