FLUIDAIR POWER Scunthorpe Scorpions, supported by Henderson Insurance, are involved in a must-win Premier League encounter with the Plymouth Devils at the Eddie Wright Raceway tonight (Friday, 7.30pm).

The Devils are the team directly above the Scorpions in the league table. Scunthorpe, despite all the bad luck that has hit them this season, are determined not to finish bottom of the Premier League.

Thomas Jorgensen (pictured), such an impressive guest for Scunthorpe two weeks ago against Peterborough, will cover for injured Scorpions’ No 1 Josh Auty, while Benji Compton comes in at No 7 for Nike Lunna, who is riding in the Finnish Under-21 Championship.

Lunna’s fellow reserve, Ben Wilson, crashed out of last night’s (Thursday) Sheffield vs Cradley meeting, and it seems highly likely a guest replacement will be required. Confirmation will follow later today.

Scunthorpe promoter Rob Godfrey says: “We need a win tonight, because Plymouth are one of the teams we’d like to overhaul in the league table.

“I think we’re in for some great entertainment, and the racing promises to be top notch, as usual. The clashes between our lads and Plymouth’s No 1 Ryan Fisher should be something special.

“Thomas Jorgensen was brilliant as a guest here two weeks ago, and we’re looking for big performances from our top five tonight.

“After last week’s meeting that was packed full of incident, I wonder what will happen next at the Eddie Wright Raceway? The only way to find out is to be here.”

A reminder that tonight sees the start of a special promotion, which will last to the end of the 2015 season, which sees all accompanied children under the age of 16 admitted for free to home Scorpions’ meetings.
