Tommy The Gun In For Scorpions
SCUNTHORPE ASSET Thomas Jorgensen will guest for the injured Josh Auty in the Premier League clash between the FluidAir Power Scunthorpe Scorpions, supported by Henderson Insurance, and league leaders Peterborough Panthers at the Eddie Wright Raceway tonight (Friday, 7.30pm).
Jorgensen spent the first four years of his British career (2011-2014) riding for the Scorpions, before joining Berwick on loan for this season. He scored 16 points for Berwick against Peterborough on Wednesday evening.
Auty had targeted tonight for his return from a broken hand. But he will need one more week before he is fit to return.
Scunthorpe promoter Rob Godfrey said: “It’s a blow that Josh isn’t fit to ride tonight, although of course we don’t want him riding before he’s fit and ready, because the last thing we want is him causing any further damage to his hand.
“But any disappointment is tempered by the fact that we secured Tommy The Gun (Thomas Jorgensen) as our guest. Thomas is still popular with our fans, and we all know how well he rides the Eddie Wright Raceway.
“The weather looks like it’s going to be fabulous all evening, and we’re set for a great night of racing. It may be bottom vs top, but our riders will be out there, giving it their all, and looking to upset Peterborough’s fine away run of results. I think it will be a terrific night of speedway.”
