Scorpions chase away points
SCUNTHORPE promoter Rob Godfrey is looking for the FluidAir Power Scorpions, supported by Henderson Insurance, to bounce straight back from Monday’s home defeat to Edinburgh, in their Premier League meeting away at Rye House tonight (Saturday).
The Scorpions are still without both David Howe (dislocated shoulder) and Ellis Perks (knee ligament damage). Rye House track expert Ben Morley comes in as a guest for Perks.
Rye House will be missing Danish duo Nikolaj Busk Jakobsen and Kasper Lykke, who are both riding in the their national championship, and may also be without Steve Boxall, a recent absentee owing to a shoulder injury.
Godfrey comments: “I feel we can win at Rye House. We want to make up for the disappointment of Monday and if we win against the Rockets, it gets us back into the race.
“Ben Morley will be a secret weapon, as he flies around the track.
“We have got to make sure we don’t get left behind which is why we have targeted a win or, at the very least, to take a point.”
Expected teams for tonight:
Rye House Rockets: 1. Edward Kennett, 2. Robin Aspegren, 3. Anders Mellgren, 4. Steve Boxall (or guest), 5. Nikolaj Busk Jakobsen R/R, 6. Dan Greenwood, 7. Paul Starke (guest).
FluidAir Power Scunthorpe Scorpions, supported by Henderson Insurance: 1. Josh Auty, 2. Rider replacement for David Howe, 3. Alex Davies, 4. Carl Wilkinson, 5. Theo Pijper, 6. Ben Morley (guest) , 7. Nike Lunna (pictured).
