* THERE is an interview with Scorpions’ Australian star Alex Davies in this week’s Scunthorpe Telegraph.

He talks about his ‘year out’ in 2014: “I built two brand new bikes and then got stuck in Australia which was so frustrating because I just wanted to come over here and ride my bikes.

“There wasn’t a lot of work at home and when I did find some I had to work away from home and didn’t get to ride as much as I would have liked.

“I was helping build the biggest solar farm in Australia but I was working 74-hour weeks, three on and one off. It was tough but I had to do to do it to pay for some stuff.

* MEANWHILE, Rob Godfrey reflects on the Scorpions’ busy schedule of four meetings in four days in this week’s Speedway Star.

Amongst Godfrey’s thoughts are: “Heat 7 at Redcar (an 8-1 to the Scorpions) was a real turning point for us and I think it might possibly turn out to be a turning point in the season.”
