Scorpions look to maintain momentum

SCUNTHORPE PROMOTER Rob Godfrey says the FluidAir Power Scorpions, supported by Henderson Insurance, will be after another empathic victory at the Eddie Wright Raceway on Friday (7.30pm), when they entertain the Redcar Bears in the League Cup.

The Scorpions defeated Newcastle by 53-37 last Friday, and Godfrey is after more of the same.

He comments: “We rode extremely well against Newcastle last Friday, every single one of our riders did their job, and we’re looking to maintain that momentum when Redcar visit this week.

“We always go out to win every single meeting, especially those at the Eddie Wright Raceway. It may be our last League Cup match, but that doesn’t make any difference. We still want to win the meeting and win it in style.

“There was some brilliant racing last week, including a thrilling Heat 10 where there seemed to be passing on every bend. I’m sure every person who witnessed that meeting went home feeling entertained.

“We need our loyal fans to really bang the drum on our behalf, and let all their friends know about the top class racing action taking their on their doorstep. If all of our fans could bring along a friend to the Eddie Wright Raceway on Friday, that would be terrific.

“We served up a treat last week and we’re planning to do the same against Redcar on Friday”, Godfrey concludes.
