THERE have been a couple of alterations to the final line-up for the seventh Ben Fund Bonanza at Swindon this Sunday 8th March (4pm, doors open at 2:30pm).

The teams will be:

ENGLAND: Ben Barker, Richard Lawson, Kyle Howarth, Kyle Newman.

AUSTRALIA: Rory Schlein, Sam Masters, Nick Morris, Rusty Harrison

DENMARK: Bjarne Pedersen, Thomas Jorgensen, Jan Graversen, Kenneth Hansen

POLAND: Szymon Wozniak, Jakub Jamrog, Greg Walasek, Nike Lunna

Unfortunately in spite of his best efforts, Adam Skornicki has not been able to arrange travel to get to the meeting in time to ride in the Polish side. From the English team Adam Roynon, a rider who has unfortunately had to call on the Ben Fund a number of times, has had to withdraw as his equipment is not ready.

The organisers are very grateful to the riders who are coming in, Kyle Newman and Nike Lunna, for being prepared to ride at short notice.

On behalf of the BSPA, Scunthorpe promoter Rob Godfrey has commented on the problems encountered in putting this event together.

“The BSPA need to work closely with Paul Ackroyd in the organisation of this meeting in future.

“We don’t need the organisers getting grief on the day because the field isn’t up to expectations. On just one day, three riders pulled out and we had to find replacements.

“There are riders who have been beneficiaries of the fund who have declined to ride, and there have been top riders who have not taken their turn in riding in the meeting.

“They probably think they are never going to need it but they don’t know what lies around the corner. They need to support it, because without a successful Bonanza meeting the good work the Ben Fund does would be substantially reduced.

“You have to single out Ben Barker for praise, he’s ridden in it every year. In my opinion those who don’t support it shouldn’t get anything out of it.”
