Intriguing clash for Stags
HENDERSON INSURANCE Scunthorpe Stags travel to Buxton this afternoon (Sunday, 3pm), in an intriguing clash between the two clubs at the bottom of the National League – arguably the two teams which have stayed true to this league’s original objective of being a development league.
Buxton have won only one match all season (against Devon), while the Stags have yet to break their 2014 duck, with their 41-48 home defeat at Stoke last time out on August 31 demonstrating how much the young Stags’ riders have progressed since the start of the season.
The clubs also meet a week today (October 12) at the Eddie Wright Raceway in the return fixture.
Sam Chapman has moved to the top of the Stags’ averages (on 5.11), and therefore moves to No 1.
Rider replacement covers for the unavailable Steve Jones, while Reece Downes is in Germany and replaced by Ellis Perks.
The Stags also bring in Tom Bacon at No 6 and Cameron Hoskins at No 8.
