EDINBURGH MONARCHS have topped the Premier League table with a win at Glasgow this afternoon (Sunday).

Therefore the following six teams have qualified for the championship play-offs in this order:

1. Edinburgh
2. Somerset
3. Ipswich
4. Berwick
5. FluidAir Power Scunthorpe Scorpions
6. Workington

The make-up of the two semi-finals groups will now be determined as follows:

1. Edinburgh go into Group A
2. Somerset go into Group B
3. Edinburgh select a team for Group A from Ipswich, Berwick, Scunthorpe and Workington.
4. Somerset select a team, from the remaining three teams yet to be selected, for Group B.
5. Edinburgh select a team, from the remaining two teams yet to be selected, for Group A.
6. Whichever team is left goes into Group B.

The two semi-final groups are determined on a mini-league basis (i.e. two home and two away fixtures for each club), with match points being accumulated as in regular fixtures. In the case of a tie on match points, race points difference is the deciding factor.

The winners of the two groups then meet home and away in the Grand Final, with the aggregate winners becoming the 2014 Premier League Champions.

More news once Edinburgh and Somerset have picked the two groups.
