Scorpions complete regular away fixtures at Rye House
IT’S ALMOST play-off time! But, in the meantime, the FluidAir Power Scunthorpe Scorpions are in action at Rye House in Hoddesdon tonight (7pm), as they complete their regular away Premier League fixtures, prior to the play-offs.
Scunthorpe are almost certain to finish fifth in the Premier League table and already assured a place in the championship play-offs. There is very little riding on tonight’s fixture for the Scorpions, with much better meetings to come in the forthcoming weeks.
On the other hand, Rye House head into the meeting desperate to secure points to avoid the wooden spoon. The Rockets are currently in a battle with Scunthorpe’s nearest-and-dearest, Sheffield Tigers, in a battle of the basement.
The Scorpions are without David Howe tonight, who is riding in the World Longtrack Championship in France, and utilise rider replacement in Howe’s absence.
Expected teams for tonight:
Rye House Rockets: 1. Edward Kennett, 2. Kasper Lykke (guest), 3. Steve Boxall, 4. Jason Garrity, 5. Anders Mellgren R/R, 6. Oliver Greenwood, 7. Luke Bowen.
FluidAir Power Scunthorpe Scorpions: 1. Nicolai Klindt, 2. David Howe R/R, 3. Ryan Douglas, 4. Josh Auty, 5. Thomas Jørgensen, 6. Tom Perry, 7. Ashley Birks.
