Scorpions reschedule for Wednesday

FLUIDAIR POWER Scunthorpe Scorpions have been quick to reschedule their rained off Bank Holiday clash with the Redcar Bears, which will now take place on THIS Wednesday (August 27) at 7.30pm at the Eddie Wright Raceway.

The Premier League meeting will be a single-header; there is no new date as yet for the postponed Scunthorpe Stags vs Buxton Hitmen National League meeting, which was also due to take place on Bank Holiday afternoon.

Scunthorpe promoter Rob Godfrey said: “I thank the Redcar promotion, for their co-operation in agreeing a new date.

“The forecast for Wednesday evening looks fine, and we do need to get this meeting on before the Premier League play-off cut-off date, which is mid-September.

“We’ve agreed to go to Workington on Saturday night in the second half of a double-header. So this is a massive week ahead for us, with home and away clashes against both Redcar and Workington, the two teams chasing us down in the Premier League table.”
