HENDERSON INSURANCE Scunthorpe Stags’ young star Ryan MacDonald faces a busy few days ahead. The Scottish rider will travel down from Glasgow to Mildenhall to ride for the Scunthorpe Stags in a National League encounter in Suffolk this afternoon (Sunday), before going back north of the border to report in for jury service on Monday morning!

Stags’ team manager Richard Hollingsworth said: “It’s quite a schedule ahead for Ryan.

“He’ll be at Mildenhall, but we’ve booked a guest for him at King’s Lynn on Wednesday, when Sam Woods will come in for him.

“Next weekend we’ve got Buxton home and away. We assume he’ll be OK for the meeting at Buxton, because it’s on a Sunday. But as far as the home meeting on August Bank Holiday is concerned, we’ll have to see how long his jury service lasts, because the August Bank Holiday is not a bank holiday in Scotland.”

The Stags have been forced into a late change at Mildenhall. Jack Hall has injured himself in a BMX accident, and Cameron Hoskins comes in to replace him at No 6.

Scunthorpe are on second in a double header at West Row. The preceding Mildenhall vs Cradley match starts at 3.30pm, so the Stags are due on at approximately 5.30pm.

Henderson Insurance Scunthorpe Stags’ line-up for this afternoon: 1. Steve Jones 4.80, 2. Arron Mogridge 4.44, 3. Danno Verge 3.35, 4. Reece Downes 3.75, 5. Sam Chapman 4.23, 6. Cameron Hoskins 3.00, 7. Ryan MacDonald 3.00.
